ABOUT ME

First, a little bit about me for you!

I live in West Michigan with my awesome husband, Alan, and my two (semi-insane) dogs, Mac and Russell.

I absolutely love all things personal growth and development (my passions are psychology and sociology), and I equally love papercrafting (I had an Etsy shop for my handmade greeting cards for awhile, and I love being in my craft room at home 💛) - oh, and a lot of my time is spent out taking walks in nature, or getting lost creating all the worksheets and handouts I could ever want in Canva.

I get my BEST rest and cup-filling moments when I’m spending time with my hubby, my friends (i.e. my kindred spirits), and my beautiful family.

And also naps. I schedule my days around my naps! 🤗

And to really live this dream, you should know I’ve been on a transformation journey.

Here’s a bit about where I was before…

Anxious thoughts and depression were regular for me, and so was feeling really purposeless and aimless, like I was just drifting through life or moving at 80 miles an hour. I was busy like crazy, mostly disconnected from myself, and living paycheck to paycheck (financially, energy-wise and emotionally).

I knew a ton of true things to remind myself, but I didn’t know how to manage my spiraling thoughts and emotions.

I was super frustrated and beaten down because nothing I knew or tried seemed to be changing anything.

Here’s the thing:
My knowledge didn’t match my actions - so I wasn’t getting better results.

I didn’t see it.

I wasn’t connecting my spiritual self with my practical, everyday self, and I wasn’t managing my thoughts and emotions so that my actions would be effective.

Instead, I was consumed with allll the externals.

I used to think my solution was: Outcomes, measuring my own success by other people’s standards, pushing myself and striving to be more outwardly productive and caught in the hustle and busyness, doing what I thought looked right to others.

I didn’t see what I was doing wrong.
And I genuinely didn’t know things could be different for me!

I needed get VERY real with myself. I needed to be honest about where I was, how I got there, and see that I could commit to getting out.

This is why I started coaching. I became a Life Design Coach in 2018 because of all the change I was making in my own life and how badly I wanted to help other women live that freedom too.


And right now, I gratefully (and sometimes in shock) recognize the progress I’ve made - and it’s a road I haven’t taken alone.

I look at the changes in my life, and see how God woke up my dream!

It kind of breaks my brain to realize how powerful God made our brains.
The capability He gave us as humans to literally change our own lives by changing our mind!

Brain science shows us our brains are neuroplastic, meaning you can actually change the way your brain works by changing what you’re thinking… and that changes the way your life is turning out!

I really believe this is what the Bible talks about when it says that God wants to renew your mind.

This is not a pie-in-the-sky, "too-good-to-be-true", magic formula!


I am actually living my dream now. A lot more restful productivity, better work/life balance, authentic relationships, maturity and real trust in myself, my relationship with God being REAL on a Tuesday… and all while I still experience anxiety, hustle energy, and the pull of the old limiting thoughts.

You don’t have to stop being an imperfect, sometimes-struggling human to have a way better life.

God has been healing my relationship with myself and transforming my life beyond what I EVER pictured was possible.

And my story’s not even over yet…

I created my coaching business, Wake Your Dream, because of this: I am a recovering hustle-addict, people-pleaser, and anxious decision-maker… and with the Holy Spirit, I’m now living a more abundant life.
